The Western Left has simply, painfully become all they claim to oppose: purveyors of race hate and bigotry and accomplices in both supporting any act of barbarism as long as a Jew is on the receiving end and then helping deny or "contextualize" whatever happened.
They are too blinded and brain damaged by ideological poisoning and by their crippling addiction to white saviorism and have sacrificed their humanity and morality on the altar of the Who/Whom Oppressed/Oppressor binaries.
Ideological manias are usually accompanied by believing "the ends justify any means" and that your political commitments are so pristine and just that they absolve you of all blame and all other considerations—also by a mass outbreak of cowardice by all the liberal classes (politicians, journalists, professors etc) who are paid to stand up for liberal values and who spend their lives making speeches about Never Again! but can never bring themselves to risk opposing the zealots on their side, as the social and career costs are too prohibitive.
Thus we arrive at another ugly moment in history—a global uprising of Jew hate aided and abetted by a supine media and academia who are complicit in their silence and who will only denounce all this once the bodies have been buried and the herd gives them permission.

Thank you! In my book, I'll try to understand where this ideological sickness is coming from, and how otherwise decent people can end up rationalizing atrocities when they see the world through rigid oppressor/oppressed binaries.
In my personal experience, with my friends who are mostly kind and tolerant liberals but who now swallow every lie about Israel no matter how extreme, I think it's some combo of: the decades of very well-crafted "Anti-Zionist" propaganda which has embedded a reigning narrative where when most Western liberals think of Israel they think of a cruel military machine with Palestinians always represented by starving bleeding children, plus all the other narratives meant to cultivate white Western guilt in re colonialism and bigotry and the pains of the darker-skinned dispossessed; with all this filtered through modern tribalism (high on emotion, low on wisdom) and of course our algorithm-based discourse, which seems to work like a potion that turns people into rage zombies. Then throw in some of the usual anti-Jewish bias that always finds many willing takers (they secretly control our govt! they stole land!) and maybe the cherry on top is how in the Social Justice age most liberals live in environments where they know they either have to loudly loyally support the cause du jour and the reigning sacred victims or live in constant terror of cancellation.

"2023 is 'deadliest year' for Palestinian children say human rights groups" was reported the day before on 06 Oct 2023. Netanyahu refused an independent investigation into the attack even though Hamas asked for that at least twice.
